I just don't get it. Id Software used to give us the chance of
downloading the encrypted version of games like Wolf3d, Doom, Doom II,
Final Doom, Master Levels for Doom II, Heretic, Hexen, and Quake. But
when will we be able to get the same opportunity to download the
encrypted version of Hexen II and Quake II? Sure, it can take forever to
d/l and true, people probably found ways to crack them which was no
different from pirating anyways. And sure, we don't get the audio tracks
when you download the encrypted version of the full version online that
come with the game when you order the game(s) on CDs. But the major
convenience is that you get to have it and when you are ready, you can
decrypt it online 24 hrs/day, seven days a week. And true, you can buy
it at retail stores and all that crap, but what if you lose your CD or
what if your CD is defective. Instead, you can store the game on other
storage devices like zip and jaz disks.
