Hi Jim, did you put a check in JK's - Setup - display - enable 3D card
acceleration?
I have a
Toshiba Infinia 7231 233MHz Inel Pent. MMX 64MB SDRAM
2MB SGRAM ATI Rage II + DVD PCI on-board video chip set

Besides the computer's bad reputation, JK runs sweet after I installed Diamond's
Monster 3DII graphics Accelerator - Even in 800x600 16 bit - The game runs fluid
like. If the enable 3D acceleration is not checked, "On my system" - JK runs
poorly. You may have to reinstall your graphic Accelerator's drivers & the
Direct X 5 drivers. I hope this is any help to you. :o)

P.S. Oh if you Play at the Internet Gaming zone look me up. "XxLeoxX"
