2 ways to do  this:

1) Hold down the CNTRL key while you click on every piece of your chair.
You will notice that
the pieces you previously clicked on stay selected.

2) An easier way.   Make sure you have the pointer selected and put a
bounding box (dashed lined box) around you whole chair.  Make sure you have
the whole chair enclosed by this box.  Check each view window.  Hit enter.
Everything inside the bounding box should now be selected.
If it doesn't work the first time, try it again.   I've had some problems
with this method, but it is alot quicker than selecting each brush,
especially if you are trying to move alot of brushes.
Oh, also you might want to group these  brushes together.  Hit CNTRL - G
when you have all the brushes  selected.  This way next time you click on
one of the pieces of your chair the whole chair will be selected.
