Yeah, I was wondering about this.  But did they actually have the name then?
I never had or played Commander Keen, but did "id Software" actually get
credit in the game, or was it just "John Carmack, John Romero, and [whoever
else]."  They could have been making games for Apogee without a name for
their company yet, maybe.
