I played quake over the net with 28.8 for about 6 months, I got really
good, I was being asked to join clans and everything. I recently got a
fiber optic and it was fast as shit! I'm talking no lag. I didn't get any
better or anything other than my normal amount, I jsut hate it when you
guys bitch about people with low ping! You guys mkae us sound like a bunch
of stupid-assed no good lamers who went out and bought a goddamn 800$$$$$$
modem so I could get a few more frags in wuake, I bought it for the direct
connection and the large download, I had no idea this was an issue with
some people. I didn't even notice a difference. So what if you have lag.
If you play with other people of the same ping your gonna suck as much as
you did. Or you gonna be as supremely amazingly kickass as you were!! stop
bitching. I think just because I have a fiber optic and 64mb ram I
shouldn't be excluded from my favorite servers. Did you know, I once went
to this group of servers that had about 40 individual servers. It had one
of these scripts in it. Except that whenever I got into a game, it lowered
my health to goddamn 30!!!!! that was the highest. This was the cheapest
shit I've ever seen!!! This is even cheaper then that damn multiple
invulnerable sentry-guns for teamfortress is. This pisses me off! I play
with a group of friends, my best friend has a 28.8 and he is the best
goddamn player I've ever seen. I caps the flag like 2 times before he dies
and whoever has him on his side alway wins. I don't even think lag is an
issue. its like fat people saying "I'm not fat, I'm just
big-boned/Hefty/Hearty" its an excuse. The bottom line is this, when you
whine about high ping, you begin to think your better than the rest and
get conceited. When one person does this everybody with a LAN/Cable/Fiber
Optic/ISDN/T1 whatever gets segregated. Just shutup and play the friggin
game!
