BSPC is a tool designed to do the following:
BSPC can be used with all BSPs (game maps, mission pack maps, custom maps etc.) of the following games:
A PC running Quake2.
bspc [-<switch> [-<switch> ...]]
Example 1: bspc -bsp2aas znt2dm?.bsp -output e:\quake2\gladiator
Example 2: bspc -bsp2aas pak1.pak\maps/q2dm*.bsp -output e:\quake2\gladiator
Switches:
map2bsp <[pakfilefilter/]filefilter> | = convert MAP to BSP | |
map2aas <[pakfilefilter/]filefilter> | = convert MAP to AAS | |
bsp2map <[pakfilefilter/]filefilter> | = convert BSP to MAP | |
bsp2bsp <[pakfilefilter/]filefilter> | = convert BSP to BSP | |
bsp2aas <[pakfilefilter/]filefilter> | = convert BSP to AAS | |
output <output path> | = set output path | |
noverbose | = disable verbose output | |
threads | = number of threads to use | |
breath | = breath first bsp building | |

freetree | = free the bsp tree | |
nocsg | = disables brush chopping |
.PAK or .SIN files are accessed as if they are normal folders. For instance use "e:\quake2\gladiator\pak1.pak\maps/q2dm1.bsp" to access the map q2dm1.bsp from the pak1.pak file.
Multiple files may be listed after the map2bsp, map2aas, bsp2map, bsp2bsp
or bsp2aas switches.
Please include the 'bspc.log'
file in bug reports.

BSPC is designed to decompile material
in which you own the copyright or have obtained permission to decompile
from the copyright owner. Unless you own the copyright or have permission
to decompile from the copyright owner, you may be violating copyright law
and be subject to payment of damages and other remedies. If you are uncertain
about your rights, contact your legal advisor.
Most game companies and/or map authors
probably won't mind using a program like this to decompile their maps and
look at how they're constructed, but distributing their maps or using the
entire or parts of their maps in other maps is certainly not allowed. Legally,
you have no right to decompile maps in which you don't own the copyright.
To quote the Quake2 license agreement:
"You, either directly or in- directly,
shall not do the following: reverse engineer, disassemble, decompile, modify
or alter the Software. The term "Software" includes all elements of the
Software such as data files, images appearing in the Software and screen
displays."
