I am releasing twelve new maps before Christmas. I have already released the first three and will continue releasing new maps over the new week or so.
Hope you enjoy them.
Fredz has uploaded two interviews with Ryan Feltrin from August and November 1999.
You can check them out here:-
August 99
November 99
In the November interview he says that Kingpin wasn't really targeted at the online community? This is from the man who came up with the idea of Bagman.
Team Mayhem 3CTF2 is a high res re-textured version of
[YFS] Mayhem's taunt_mayhem_3ctf2 map done by me. That map was a remake of the Quake3 Q3CTF1 map.
I contacted [YFS]Mayhem and luckily he still had the source map file. My version features the hires central towers texture set created by
Mr Knoxville.
You can download Tam Mayhem 3CTF2 from
here.
Just extract/unzip the files to your Kingpin folder and they will be placed in the correct locations.
You can grab [YFS]Mayhem's original version from
here.
You can grab Mr Knoxville's hires textures
here.
You can only use these on smaller maps due to the limitations of the Quake2 engine.

Team Bodies is a medium sized, concrete themed, Bagman map converted to Kingpin by me.
It is a conversion of the BodiesCTF map made for the Quake Transfusion mod by
Predator.
It mainly uses the texture set
Hypov8 made for my
Team Death Room map.
It's been beta tested and has been called 'an instant classic' :)
You can download Team Bodies from
here.
Just extract/unzip the files to your Kingpin folder and they will be placed in the correct locations.
Storm is a medium to large, Christmas themed, death match map converted to Kingpin, for the Xmas mod, by
Mr Damage.
It is a conversion of the Action Quake 2 map that was made by
WizardExt. I contacted WizardExt and he was more than happy to have his maps converted to Kingpin.
It's an urban style map that uses all the original AQ2 textures. You can get up on the rooftops by climbing up the drain pipes. It has ample weapons and items and 16 player spawns.
You can download Storm - Snowed in from
here.
Just extract/unzip the files to your Kingpin folder and they will be placed in the correct locations.
Kingpin is on sale at GoG.com for 60% off.
Unfortunately the Steam & GoG.com button for Kingpin wont show up if it is banned in your country, such as Germany.
It's part of their Winter Sale and will be on sale until 4th January 2021.
Recently
Elfor talked to an Action Quake 2 mapper called
WizardExt and got him to send him all the source map files for the AQ2 maps he had made.
I also contacted WizardExt and confirmed he was ok to have his maps converted to Kingpin. He is more than happy and so that's one of the things I am doing at the moment. I should be releasing some of his converted maps shortly.
