Sunday 20th Anniversary Extravaganza

Ok I finally have the details of the schedule for the big 20th Anniversary game on Sunday.

***Please note that the games will be starting earlier at 8.30pm UK time/3.30pm EST.***

The planned shedule is -

8.30pm Classic Gangbang (KPDM1-5 maps)

9.00pm Test of new Killa mod (capture and hold style mod)

9.30pm Custom deathmatch

10.00pm Bagman

11.00pm onwards  other mods will be chosen to play from whoever is in the server.

Don't worry about the number of server changes - Monkey Harris will be at the game and he now has a command in the Monkey Mod (which all servers use) that allows the admin to move all players to another server seamlessly.

It's possible the schedule might slip a little. For instance I have gotten MH to add 11 different maps to the custom deathmatch server so if ppl want to play some of them it may be more than 30 minutes in that server.

New Deathmatch Map - DM Krampus

Stigma has released a new deathmatch map called DM Krampus.

It is a large map that features heavy fog (set fog to yes in visuals menu).

It is a remake/larger version of the old DM MortalHavoc2 map.

It is set in a warehouse type of building with several boxes/crates placed around the map.

There seems to be ample weaposn and items and should handle a medium to large crowd.

Speedway Mod Video

The Speedway mod is a motorcycle racing mod for Kingpin that was made by Chief_SohCahToa and Hexed[AD].

Reminder That Sunday Is 20th Anniversary Of Kingpin

Just a reminder that this Sunday, 30th June, is the 20th anniversary of the release of Kingpin.

There will of course be a big game of Kingpin on Sunday so I hope you can all set aside some time and drop in for the game. It should be good :)

It would be great to get two or three servers filled with players.

The Sunday games this week will be an hour or so of GunRace on Newskool GunRace server then the remainder of the night will be Capture the Flag on Killa's server.

Mac''s Kingpin Servers Updated

Australia is currently upgrading it's broadband network and Macanah has let me know he has just got connected to the new service and his servers run much better now.

Mac runs the Aussie macanah.moo.KP servers which run several different mods plus Botmatch.

He also said that because of the network upgrade downloads from his site are much faster too. Check it out here.

Greem Gauntlet Deathmatch Map

Here is another map that is a straight conversion from Quake2 that was done several years ago.

Green Gauntlet is a medium sized deathmatch map converted from Quake2 by DirtyDog. The oriignal Q2 author is Nephilim.

It is a classic Q2 style, multi leveled map, that uses all Quake2 textures and sky. It has ample weapons and items and 12 player spawns.

Biggie Smalls Runt Skin

Here is a skin for the Runt model of the late rapper Biggie Smalls. Author is unknown.

Two New Mods On Way

There are currently two new mods in production.

One is a capture and hold style mod called Killa's mod and the other is a themed mod (like Xmas, Halloween and Easter mods) called Summer mod.

Both are well under way so stay tuned for more information as they progress.

Munitions Dump Deathmatch Map

-=Munitions Dump=- is a straight conversion to Kingpin of a map from the Xatrix Quake 2 Expansion Pack The Reckoning. It was converted by DirtyDog.

It is a large deathmatch map that uses all the original Quake 2 textures. It has 18 player spawns and ample weapons and items.

You can download -=Munitions Dump=- from here.

Just extract/unzip the files to your Kingpin folder and they will be placed in the correct locations.

Btw I think they got some inspiration from this map when making the Rival Turf map for Kingpin.

Droid Player Models Zipfiles Updated

I have updated the zipfiles for the Female Droid and Male Droid Models.

They are the same model but the Female Droid had a lot more skins so I have included all the skins in both zipfiles.

Just extract/unzip the files to your Kingpin folder and they will be placed in the correct locations.

I have also included custom sounds in the Male Droid zip file. Custom sounds for the player models now work in Kingpin but you need to install the latest MH'S Kingpin patch (ver5).

You just install the patch and you will now see a new option in the Options Menu for custom player model sounds yes/no.

Go-Go Dancer Bitch Skins

Here are three Go-Go Dancer Bitch skins. All similar just different colours. Author is unknown.

Extract the skin files to your kingpin folder and they will be placed in the correct location.

The zipfile features three bodies and three legs but no heads so you can use any default head such as 008.

 Easiest way to select thiese skins is to:-

4th Deathmatch Map

4th is a simple deathmatch map converted from Duke3D by Fredz and later updated by DirtyDawg.

It's a small to medium sized map, has several areas, and uses Duke3D textures. It has ample weapons and items and is fun to play with a few people.

Here is a trippy, alien looking, skin for the thug model called Blue Magoo. Author is unknown unfortunately.

The Great Canadian Bacon Bagman Map

As we near the 20th anniversary of Kingpin I thought I would post about a Bagman map that was released in the 1st year back in 1999.

The Great Canadian Bacon Bagman map is a large map based around a hockey rink.

The centre money drop is the hockey arena and there are two ways to get to the team bases. The safe rooms are opened via switches located nearby.

This is an old style Bagman map so there aren't wepaon cches as such but weapons are spread throughtout the map.

Curvacious Deathmatch Map

Curvacious is a map converted from Quake2 to Kingpin by {GT}TheGhosT back in 2002.

It's a medium sized deathmatch map that features lots of curves. It only uses a few custom textures, has ample weapons and items, and 19 player spawns.

20th Anniversary of Kingpin

Sunday 30th June is the 20th anniversary of the release of Kingpin: Life of Crime.

Who would of imagined back in 1999 that we would still be playing the game 20 years later.

There will be a game of Kingpin on Sunday 30th June so hopefully every person who reads this will turn up and help celebrate 20 years of KP.

Male Hydralisk Player Model

One of the lesser known custom player models is Male Hydralisk. The model is based on the Zerg Hydralisk from Starcraft and was converted from Quake 2. I am not sure who converted it to Kingpion (probably Sylacs or Knight) but th original Quake 2 model was made by Warlord.

It just has one skin and no viewable weapons (it attacks you with its claws).
