Snippet Of Kingpin Reloaded News

Since the initial announcement about Kingpin Reloaded there has been no news released. There has only been the occasional forum or Discord post by one of the devs.

Here is the latest post by one of the devs:-

First Level Of Kingpin In GZDoom

Here is a video of the unfinished Kingpin TC for Doom 2. 

The creator, Cherno, only got as far as the 1st level. The mod featured the first Skidrow map, enemies and NPC, and some weapons.

Not Downloading Textures From Servers

Occasionally I hear about a player who can't download textures from servers (so a player joins a server and has to download a map they don't have. The map downloads ok but any associated custom textures don't download).

This usually happens with Windows 10 and Kingpin installed in the default location (c:/programe files).

What usually fixes this issue is to uninstall Kingpin and reinstall it in another folder such as c:/games.

Thursday Game Of Custom Death Match & GunRace Mod 21st May

The Thursday Games this week will be split between custom deathmatch on the Newskool MrD's Custom Deathmatch server and the GunRace Mod.

Custom DM will feature the custom pak file that contains custom weapon models, skins, sounds etc.

Server Details:-

New Death Match Map - BigBug DM

BigBug DM is a conversion/remake of the BigBug Quake 2 deathmatch map by Mr Damage for Kingpin. The original map was made by Macanah who gave me the map to convert to Kingpin.

BigBug DM is a medium to large sized, urban style, death match map. It is set in and around a large multi level building.

It uses all Kingpin textures now but still features several jump pads and a teleport from the original map.

There are ample weapons and items and seventeen player spawns.

The map features graffiti textures made by the Roarke twins.

You can download BigBug DM from here.

Just extract/unzip the files to your Kingpin folder and they will be placed in the correct locations.

The Sunday Game this week will be Capture the Flag on the Newskool CTF server.

The game starts at 9pm UK time.

Jonez is currently working on a new Egyptian themed Bagman map.

Kryten Thug Skin

Here is a thug skin of Kryten, the Series 4000 mechanoid, from the classic British comedy series Red Dwarf. The skin was made by Spark.

You can download Kryten from here.

Just unzip all the file to your kingpin folder and they will be placed in the correct locations.

Easiest way to select this skin is to:-

Pull down the console (tilde key ~)

Type in :-

skin "male_thug/kry kry kry"

Otherwise you can go to the Gangbang "player setup" and the new skins will be located there.

The Thursday Game this week will be an hour or so of Hitmen Mod and then the remainder of the night will be Crash mod.
