Monkey Harris has released a new test version of his MH Kingpin patch.
This new version adds support for hi-res images of any type.
Here's a patch update for you lot to try. It should add support for hi-res images of any type (not only map textures) under a "hires" folder, eg.
you may have:
"main/hires/textures",
"main/hires/env",
"main/hires/models",
"main/hires/players",
"main/hires/pics".
As the hi-res files don't replace the originals, it's possible to switch them on/off, which can be done with a new "
r_hires" cvar (enter "
vid_restart" to apply changes).
Hopefully someone can create some nice hi-res images to make use of this.
Here's another patch update to add support for PNG images in the "hires" folder (it'll look for TGA first and then PNG), as well as fixing the path search order so that mod-specific customisations still have priority. It also re-enables the "gl_maxtexsize" cvar for setting the image size limit (larger will be downsampled), with a default value of 4096 (not that I think it'd be a good idea to make them that big!).

Just extract the file to your Kingpin folder and overwrite the existing file.
Dagon is currently creating new Hires textures for Kingpin. These will be all the standard Kingpin textures and the final product will probably be in png format. These new textures will reside in a new folder in main called hires (Kingpin/main/hires).
Dagon is very experienced at creating upscaled textures. There are still some challenges, but work is progressing well.

Fredz has done some fixes for the thug, runt & bitch models.
1. I removed all the double vertices out of models (Expect body.mdx and legs.mdx would give problems with hitbox). Because this can give problems with model editing. You could see this as hole in a map.
2. I fixed default skin. Sometimes a model was not opening the default skin name but had a weird old name. Like skin_upper.tga
3. The hand of female_chick was not good.

4. Added the missing sprites to some weapons. Some frames for some weapons don't work due to need update in SDK. (Pistol and Flamethrower should work good)
5. Added a link to a better images with weapons if possible.
5. Added the missing crowbar model. Does need a update in SDK to be active.
6. Added some missing hat skins.
7. Added smoke to the cigar.
If a model is not in the zip it probrably doesn't need a fix.
